| My name is Kevin and I am 14 years old. In the middle of my basketball season last year I started to feel sharp pains and discomfort around my knees and on the side of my hip. My knees got swollen a few times also. I went to the doctors and he told me that I had ITBS, (Ilio Tibial Band Syndrome) which was caused by a inbalance of strength in my quad muscles. I was sent to a physical therapist where she found some tendonitis around my knees. During and after my physical therapy I was told to keep off the road as much as possible on my runs. These 2 injuries have completely changed my runs and running lifestyle. (i missed 7 games of that basketball season cause the school nurse didn't let me play.) | |
