After noticing that I replied to a topic instead of posting a new topic to introduce myself, here I am introducing myself once again
I started running a few years back, mainly to lose a few pounds. Then in fall of 2003 I started my first RR clinic, a 10K clinic. I kept going, signing up for a 1/2 marathon clinic and ran my first 1/2 in May of 2004. My last clinic I took was the Personal Best clinic but because we raced hills at full speed, I started to get foot pain. I had planned to increase my distance over last winter (to 50 kms per week) but couldn't pursue that due to dull foot pain. I was reading that you (Robert) had to deal with knee pain and doctors told you decrease your running and such... I tried to many things as well but what worked for me was A.R.T (Active Release Therapy) and I was be able to train for the World Masters Games. I ran the 10K race and the 1/2 marathon. I did well, running the 10K, ran a PB (53:07), however when I think of my 1/2 marathon, I have to shake my head... my goal was to finish it in under 2 hours... well I started out too fast and that killed me at the end. The last 7 kms were a drag, in addition I had to stretch out a tight hamstring and I had to deal with bad calf cramps, 2 kms before the finish line and again just a few meters before the finish line I will train harder over this coming winter, increasing my distance and running 5-6 times a week instead of 4-5 times. This coming Saturday I am running a 10K race, hoping to be able to PB. I recently created a personal running website myself, check it out: http://www.members.shaw.ca/run4fun/ I will add to it as I go along... Anyway, I will check out the running log. I keep track of my runs all the time and list the kms on my shoes but I want to see what yours is all about... |

| I like your running log, cool. I just used an Excel spreadsheet to record my running info but I like this one and think I will use it from on to add my runs. | |
