How to stop snoring

Off road Alberta

Being the bold individual that I am, I tend to leap before I look.

I've been running for about 1 1/2 years now and I've never really pushed myself or entered any races.  I thought, why not now?  I signed up to be the third leg (in a team of three) in a triathlon.  Whoo Hoo! Therefore, I'd be running the 5 km portion of it.

After feeling good about signing up, I was totally stoked and was giving myself pep talks on how awesome it was going to be....until I found out that the team I just joined won second place last year and the only reason why I was allowed in was because the chick who ran it last year, is going out of town the weekend it's happening.

Not only do I have to live up to the expectations of placing in the top two, but I found out her time from last year was the 5 km in approximately 20 minutes!

I'm screwed.

I'm currently running it in approximately 25 minutes and believe me, I am busting my butt to even get this time.

I've got another 70 days or so to train for this, so stay tuned and see what progress I've made.

Either have yourself a good laugh, or feel-free to post words of encouragement.  Heck, give me something so I can have a good laugh!

Hi jdot.
don't stress so much. they must know how you run and they did accept you to join them. besides that just keep up your training and go out and have fun. do the best that you can. I'm sure you'll do good.

Thanks Windrunner for the words of encouragement.  I think I will go out and have fun.  It's the best way to do something, right?
