I like the log. It encourages me to get out running!
I'm a 55yr old "new runner" from Manchester, UK. Haven't run in a serious way since schooldays. In summer 2006 entered a fun 1 mile charity event and was amazed how hard running had become - even though I considered myself reasonably "fit"! Trained over a couple of months for the mile, did it and decided to keep on running! Plan to run the Manchester 10k and the Blackpool half-marathon in 2007. My mile pace varies between 9mins and 11mins depending on training distance run. I'd like to improve this but don't seem to be getting faster! Any tips? Anyone? |

Hi, dkw!
Great to hear you decided to get in shape! I suggest you start doing some interval repeats once a week. See http://run.dolphinstreet.com/3weekrunningprog ... for some ideas. Also, a longer slow run on the weekends makes you strong. All the best, Robert |
