Hi all. I participate on Robert's guitar related site, and he told me about the running log. I have run most of my life, participating in some distance running in school, and track, typically relays, 880s and etc. Since school, I have done a variety of runs. The longest was a marathon in the 90s, and I have done a few halfs. I am now 44. I like to trail run, and do intervals mostly now. I would still train for a half, but a marathon takes too much time for me in my life right now, and beats me up too much. I live in the Sun Valley, Idaho area, and train at altitudes of between 5500 and 7000 feet typically. I also mountain bike a lot, and road cycle some. I probably bike slightly more than I run. But I do love running. I just need to do it in a way so that running continues to love me. I would be interested in discussing crosstraining, intervals, prepping for shorter races, and maybe target a half in late summer or fall if training is going well. Anyway, that's me!
Sincerely, Steve from Sun Valley. Also, Robert, thanks again for all you do. |

Hi Steve, welcome! Glad you joined this place.
Dang right you have to run a half in the fall. I'm gonna check back with you on that one to see how that goes....

| Thanks Robert. I have run several. My best, maybe 10 or more years ago was in around almost exactly 1.5 hours. A couple years ago, the last was an hour, 44 min or so if I remember correctly. It would be fun to see if I could better that later time. Bet I could if I trained right! Would be lots of cross training on the bike though, due to joints and sciatica/quad issues that arise if I just run too much, especially road. | |
